Thoughts on the festival: "I learned about my own cinephilia. It is confirmed- I love watching movies. There is something thrilling about consuming so much film at such a rapid pace. It’s a sort of binging in the pleasure of film viewership. I wanted to see as much as possible so that I could know, understand, and enjoy all the incredible cinema present. I wanted to view films as they were intended – especially the many older films from an era of cinematic glory never experienced by my generation. I felt myself learn how to participate in the frantic consumption of film and enjoy it immensely. The entire week was a cinephilic feast." -- Matt Jacket '18 |
